1 MW of solar capacity typically requires 4–5 acres of land

Let’s break that down:

  • 10 MW plant → ~40–50 acres
  • 100 MW plant → ~400–500 acres
  • 1 GW solar park → several thousand acres

While these numbers are approximate, they provide a solid starting point for early-stage feasibility and land acquisition planning.


Why Does Solar Require So Much Land?
